01 / What they needed
Data across finance, retail, HR, care and fundraising systems, most reporting done by hand, and a need to make decisions from combined data. Retail was the place to start.
02 / How I approached it
A one-day workshop on strategy, current and future state, and which use cases to do first. Then the build: pipelines from the finance and retail systems into a medallion lakehouse, conformed dimensions, semantic models and reports, separate development, test and production environments, automated validation and monitoring. Training for the team and a handover pack.
03 / What it left them with
Retail and finance reporting from one platform, reconciling to the finance figures, extended by the team.
